My Son’s Wedding…

I’m getting ready to do some dress shopping! I haven’t bought a dress since my daughters wedding in March 2008. I bought that dress at a local Catherine’s clothing store. I didn’t enjoy that shopping experience. I had to purchase a size 3X dress. I’m looking forward to shopping this time as I will be looking at dresses in size 14!!! I will post a photo of me in my new dress after I get it! :)

Goal Setting is Important…

Long overdue update…

Where have the days, months gone??? I can’t believe that it is almost March 2012 and I will soon have my 61st birthday! It’s been a while since I last posted and a lot has happened. I had a wonderful summer (2011) with visits from my children that live in other states and in October I got to visit my family in Minnesota for a niece’s birthday party. I was very sick during the month of November and wasn’t able to go to work for a whole month! Thankfully I have a very understanding boss and still had a job to go back too. We also found out during October / November that my husband has some health issues. Since October I have put on around 15 pounds (combination of emotional eating and not enough  exercising). I am working on getting back on tract now and would still like to reach my ultimate goal to weigh 150 pounds by the end of 2012.

Vacation setback is over…

I weighed 160.2 pounds this morning. I am now below what I was at the beginning of our vacation. I find vacation eating difficult especially when eating 2 to 3 meals a day at restaurants.

4th of July…

Have a happy and safe 4th of July! We returned this week from a one week vacation to a family reunion. It is hard to eat restaurant meals daily for a week with all of the sodium etc. I worked at trying to choose the best options along the way but still gained 4.4 pounds. I am already down two pounds and will soon be back down to my weight before I went on the vacation.

3 Pounds gone FOREVER!!!

My weight loss has really slowed up lately. I had a great week though and I now weigh three pounds less! :) I’ve lost a total of 129 pounds now and my BMI has dropped from 47 to 26.1! One more pound to go and I will be able to collect a SparkPeople 130 pound weight loss trophy! :) Only 12 pounds to my long term goal to get to 150 pounds!

My Yearly Cardiologist Visit…

In January 2008 my cardiologist told me that I was young and should lose weight. Today she was thrilled with my weight loss progress. We talked for a while about what I have been doing to the lose weight. A week ago I got the results of my blood work so we discussed the results and she was extremely pleased with them. My cholesterol levels are great. My good cholesterol went up 11 points and my glucose drop from being in the 110-114 range to 89. She said that what I did will make a big difference in my life and gave me a big hug before I left.Late Sunday night I returned from a long weekend trip to Colorado to visit my oldest daughter and her family. It was a great trip but a bit of a whirlwind because it was so short. It was a great fitting into the airline seat and even having some room to spare! I used to feel awful trying to stuff myself in the seat and try to get the seat belt buckled.Good luck achieving your goals in 2011 and beyond! Faith

Love My Jeans…

It sure feels wonderful weighing under 170 pounds. I feel like a NEW woman. I have come a long way since I started on August 6th 2009 at 291 pounds. I actually enjoy shopping for clothes now and I don’t remember ever liking to shop for clothes. I always refused to purchase jeans so I haven’t wore any since I was in my early twenties…now I live in them daily and love it…even with belts! I will be celebrating my 60th birthday in a few weeks!If I can do this so can you…Good luck achieving your goals in 2011 and beyond! Faith

WooHoo…BMI is dropping too!!!

I’ve been keep tract of my weight loss but not paying attention to my BMI. I was pleasantly surprised today when I saw that it was not only under 30 but is now at 27.9! When I started on this journey in August 2009 my BMI was 47.0.Good luck achieving your goals in 2011 and beyond! Faith

The Slowdown Continues…

My weight loss is still moving slowly but it is moving! I’m now at 174.2 pounds gone forever! I’m on a ONE WAY JOURNEY and do not ever plan on making a return trip! The lifestyle changes that I started making in August 2009 are just part of my everyday life now and will remain that way. Weight Loss Slowdown

I currently weigh 177.2 and my weight loss has slowed done a lot. I could lower my calorie input and/or up my exercise but for the time being I have decided to just enjoy the new me and continue to slowly lose weight till I reach my current short term goal and my ultimate long term goal. My current goal is to weigh 165 by the summer of 2011 and weigh 150 by the end of the year 2011.

LOVE TO SHOP…

I hated to shop for clothes for many years. I went shopping for sweaters the last two weekends at the Racine and Kenosha Goodwill Stores. I enjoyed clothes shopping a lot! This morning I weighted 181.4 pounds…that’s a loss of 109.6 pounds since my lifestyle change beginning on August 6th of last year. No more 3X’s for me! I now wear size 16 jeans and large sweaters! I haven’t wore these sizes since in my early 20′s and in less than 6 months I will be 60 years old!You can do it too!!!

Still on losing :)

WOW…does time fly? It’s hard to believe that it is October! 14 months after making a complete “LIVESTYLE CHANGE”…it has become a normal way of life!!! :) I have now lost 107.4 pounds! The weight loss has slowed up but still moving downward! :)

I made my doctor happy :)

I saw my doctor today for my yearly physical. When she looked at my records and my today’s weight she looked up at me and said, “You’ve lost 100 pounds!” We had a great talk about what I did to loose the weight. I printed some charts for her including my blood pressure readings. I have officially had my blood pressure medication reduced in half! :)
